On stone-worn trails, where words outweigh all else.

The Kulla is not a building. It is an order, an unwritten law, a way of being human.

This journey is a slow initiation into the world of the Mirdita‘s Kulla, a living institution where life, honor, hospitality and justice have coexisted for centuries. Along ancient stone paths and inside towers that are still inhabited today, participants do not merely observe history; they are welcomed into it.
The first day opens with hospitality as ritual. A fire is lit, coffee is roasted, words are few. The Kulla is revealed as a social temple: a place that protected life yet enforced peace, where vengeance was restrained, a promise was sacred, and honor carried weight. In the evening, through storytelling and visual narration, the Kulla unfolds as a living institution, juridical, political, educational and identitarian.
The following days lead through the towers of chieftains, masters and men of the spoken word. In their odas (guest rooms), words still stand firm. Coffee is accompanied by silence, rakia by memory, and a traditional council unfolds according to custom. The Kanun is not explained, it is understood.
In Lufaj, the Kulla opens itself to the sky. Riding on horseback toward a tower above the hills at sunset, wine is sipped slowly as the light fades. Here, a guest is never asked who they are, only welcomed.
The final day speaks of continuity. Of towers that still produce sound, like the çifteli, and of a heritage not preserved in museums, but lived.
This journey offers no spectacle. It offers roots.
